Accenture was known for its annual celebration of International Women's Day6 (IWD), an event it had been celebrating since 2001. The celebrations covered almost 140 events in 34 countries.7

According to the company, the event highlighted Accenture's commitment to recruiting, retaining, and advancing the cause of women at the workplace.

The event provided a global forum for showcasing company initiatives which addressed the various issues that women faced at the workplace.8 Experts felt that this in turn had enabled the firm to achieve high performance.
